Quantum Zen (1)

Quantum Zen is a world view based on science, especially quantum mechanics. Since it is a world view, it must also have a systematic view of the origin of the universe, the nature of the universe, the relationship between nature and man, religion, art, aesthetics, and sociology.

Why should a worldview be based on science? Because the environment in which we live, namely nature, is the object of scientific research. We ourselves are also part of nature in a broad sense. The content of some scientific disciplines is people, or the relationship between people and nature. For a worldview, if science and understanding of nature are abandoned, it is abandoning important content related to people. Such a world view will be biased, its effectiveness and relevance will be low, and the conclusions drawn will be incorrect. Many religions reject science, which I think is wrong. If the Creator created nature, and we say that we believe in the Creator, but we reject or do not want to deeply understand the nature created by the Creator, it can be said that we have not truly believed in the Creator. But to believe in the Creator, respect him, and worship him, first of all, we must respect and deeply understand the nature he created, and we must understand and master science. Therefore, everything included in the worldview should have a close relationship with science. Some people, whether they are students of liberal arts or sciences, disagree with emphasizing the role of science in the humanities. In fact, they hold a way of thinking with religious people who reject science, and they cannot recognize the fundamental nature of science to the worldview.

Since science is the study of nature, and nature is an important part of human life, science is an important foundation of the world outlook, which cannot but be emphasized. In fact, from Pythagoras and Aristotle in ancient Greece to Galileo, Descartes, Newton, and Leibniz, they are both scientists and masters of humanities. Science has a great influence on the humanities, but now many people often fail to see this. Some humanists and religious people even disagree with the effect of science on the humanities. Quantum Zen is different from many other religions, philosophies and worldviews. It is based on science and looks at the problem from the root of science as much as possible. Since the ultimate question of mankind "where do I come from, where do I go, who am I" is strongly related to nature, Quantum Zen will give a more self-consistent world view.

Of course, humanities are largely independent of science, especially when human society has got rid of the almost helpless dependence on nature in the ancient times, and has achieved greater development in the spiritual world today. This is also part of Quantum Zen's recognition and contribution, which will be discussed in more detail later. However, due to the development of science, especially the development of quantum mechanics, we know more about nature, and it is necessary to re-examine the humanities from a scientific point of view. Some humanistic viewpoints are affirmed by quantum mechanics, and some viewpoints are denied by quantum mechanics. Literature, philosophy, and artistic aesthetics are all the content of Quantum Zen. For example, Quantum Zen draws the same view on many theories of literature and art from the perspective of quantum polymorphism. Quantum Zen also reinterpreted the philosophy of Japanese philosopher Kitaro Nishida.

The worldview affects daily life, but it generally cannot be directly used as daily language. In daily life and work, if you are not a scientist, if you always talk about science and quantum mechanics, and others don’t understand it, things will go against your wishes, you will not be able to communicate, and your life and work will be affected. Or when you are appreciating a work of art, if you must talk about quantum mechanics, that would be pretty horrible. However, the worldview of quantum Zen masters has a great influence on life, work and art appreciation. For example, quantum multi-imageness makes quantum Zen practitioners more tolerant and able to recognize that different viewpoints have different angles, so they may also innovate. For another example, from the perspective of logical reasoning, quantum Zen practitioners believe that all human beings, animals, plants, and nature are part of the "god", so they will respect others more, have empathy for animals, and love nature more. They are also better able to understand "the unity of man and nature". This is the same as the influence of a religious person's belief on his work attitude and aesthetic attitude. If a religious person always expresses his religious views when working and appreciating art, it will also affect communication and atmosphere. But we still understand that his work attitude and the angle of art appreciation are all related to his religious sense. Inseparable, because that is his worldview.

I mentioned religion in many places. So, is Quantum Zen a religion? This is a complicated question. First, Quantum Zen is based on science, which is different from most religions. But Quantum Zen also affects our attitudes to life and ways of doing things, so it is similar to religion. More importantly, Quantum Zen is not atheism. It believes in the existence of the Creator. It believes that the Creator created the world and gave it laws. In this regard, Quantum Zen is almost equivalent to religion. More importantly, Quantum Zen is a special and inclusive belief. Quantum Zen starts from quantum polyphasics and believes that everything in the universe is the aspect of the Creator. Therefore, Quantum Zen includes all existing religions and believes that every religion has the truth it recognizes and its biases. A quantum Zen master is both a Christian and a Buddhist. Both religious and critical.

People would be puzzled to say that Quantum Zen is a belief based on science. For most people, "religious should belong to religion, and scientific should belong to science". But as I said before, religion that does not understand science is incomplete, it is biased, it does not fully understand the Creator, and its worldview is limited, so Quantum Zen is a more complete belief. Quantum Zen practitioners are full of awe and interest in the nature created by the Creator, so they will learn and study the laws of nature more actively and religiously. For quantum Zen practitioners, the Encyclopedia of Science is another Bible of God.

On the other hand, although some scientists understand nature, they feel that nature is nature and there is no creator. I think whether there is a Creator is a question of faith. In other words, if you do not believe in a Creator, others cannot force you to believe. On the other hand, if you believe it, no matter how you say it, you won’t convince everyone. But scientists generally have their own reasons for not believing in creators. After all, they are rational thinkers. Quantum Zen practitioners also attach great importance to rational thinking, so here we will use a rational thinking method to talk to such scientists. Let's not talk about quantum mechanics, but about the theory of evolution. But I am not trying to prove that the theory of evolution is wrong, I have another purpose.

Many years ago, when I was not a quantum Zen person, I translated an article by Richard Dawkins, a famous British atheist biologist, called "Five Bridges on Darwin's Natural Selection Road". In this article, Dawkins mentioned that all Cambridge students like Darwin had read "Deism" published by William Perry in 1802. In that book, Perry said, "If it was designed, it must have been designed." Perry used the fact that a clock must have its designer to illustrate the existence of a creator. He believes that some things, such as clocks and human eyes, are so complicated, so beautiful, and so magical that it is statistically impossible to appear on their own. Because if you disassemble the watch and install it randomly, even if you install it tens of thousands of times, the original watch that is accurate to a second will not appear. The same is true for human eyes and human organs. Therefore, Perry believes that since there are things that can only be designed and created through the hands of the creator, the creator exists.

Dawkins believes that this intuition is wrong, because Darwin discovered a third way besides random combination and creator design, which is cumulative natural selection. He believes: "As long as there is a little bit of gentle improvement, Natural selection will find it and use it, and use time to let the theory of evolution reach the peak that random combinations cannot reach, and the endless complexity."

I translated the article by Dawkins in the first place. I agreed with and appreciated the statement, but I didn't believe it 100%. After all, I am from a science background. From the perspective of physics and engineering, a tenable theory must always be derived through mathematical formulas, and then it can be accepted only when it is proved to be correct through experimental tests. The theory of evolution, which seems to be scientific, is a bit like what people mean by hand gestures to deceive you. First of all, there is no mathematical formula that can describe "As long as there is a little bit of gentle improvement, natural selection will find him, use it, and use time to reach the peak and complexity that natural random combination can't achieve." Secondly, it is impossible to experiment verification. Proving the theory of evolution through fossils is not a repetitive experiment after all, and fossils have many missing parts in history. All in all, although I am influenced by the theory of evolution and basically believe in the theory of evolution, I feel that the theory of evolution is not rigorous and I still rely on some beliefs to accept it.

But I am not trying to show that the theory of evolution is wrong. My purpose is to remind readers of Dawkins logic. That is, he believes that the existence of the Creator depends on the correctness of the theory of evolution. If there is no theory of evolution, and it is impossible to create complicated watches and creatures by random combinations, then it can only be said that there are designers or creators. In fact, since the mid-nineteenth century, human beings no longer believe in the existence of the Creator as they did before, and Darwin's theory has a great influence. If there is no evolutionary path, people probably won't abandon God so easily and accept atheism.

Then we think about it according to this logic. We do not look at living things, but at the basic material properties of the universe and the primitive stages of the universe. I think that some physicists also believe that inorganic matter also has evolution. For example, the emergence of carbon atoms has evolutionary reasons. But the basic characteristic of atoms, quantum nature, existed at the time of the Big Bang, that is, at the beginning of the universe. Without quantum, there would be no matter, and without matter, there would be no quantum. So, is the complexity and richness of quantum obtained through randomness? Not too possible. Is it obtained through evolution? Quantum and laws of physics existed in the universe from the very beginning, so I don't think it is possible. Therefore, according to the logic that Dawkins and almost all scientists would agree with, quantum is designed and created, at least it is extremely possible.

How complex and rich is quantum? Before we learn more, we just list a few items:

1. The accuracy of atomic clocks is 1 second in 20 million years, which is better than man-made clocks.

2. All atoms have the same quantum properties, no matter where in the universe or when in ancient times, they have never changed. You might say that many new elements have appeared and evolved, but the quantum nature has not changed.

3. Moreover, all the same atoms, such as hydrogen atoms, no matter where in the universe, no matter when in ancient times. never change. You can substitute one for the other without any problems.

4. An atom has a very small but hard nucleus, which is positively charged. There is a vast space outside the nucleus relative to the nucleus. Electrons exist in it, and the electrons are negatively charged. The nucleus and electrons attract each other, but keep a distance. The electron says to the nucleus: "I can feel your attraction, and I also attract you, but I have to keep a certain distance." It is difficult to ask why, if it were not the case, we would not exist to ask this question.

5. The orbits on which electrons are located cannot be arbitrary, they can only exist on discrete orbits, they can only jump around on these discrete orbits, and cannot continuously walk between orbits. This discreteness is the direct definition of "quantum".

Why are the basic matter of the universe atoms, and its behavioral characteristics are quantum? I believe for the time being that people will never understand why. But if I assume that there is a creator and assume that it is omnipotent, then quantum may be his "minimalist" creation tool, and he has no choice. That is to say, a method slightly lower than the quantum "level" cannot create a rich universe; and a method slightly higher than the quantum "level" is redundancy, not minimalism.

Why the creator wants to be minimalist is because he must be fair. Choosing non-minimalism will deny his fairness. Why the creation needs justice is because he is omnipotent. Choosing injustice will deny his omnipotence. These are the important theorems of quantum Zen. And "quantum Zen" is a logical system. "There is a creator, and it is omnipotent" is an axiom that leads to other conclusions of this logical system.

“Quantum may be the creator’s minimalist creation tool, and he has no choice.” This is what I thought of when thinking about the quantum Zen system, and one day I saw Einstein once said, “What I really care about : Does God have any choice when creating the world". This kind of "same view" makes me more confident in this quantum Zen system.

Nobel Prize-winning physicist Frank Wilczek asked why God cannot have a choice. He thinks that maybe God is an artist, and the artist just chooses like this to have a sense of beauty. Quantum Zen believes that beauty is the lemma of "minimalism" and "symmetry".

God is omnipotent, so he has no choice. This is a contradiction and a manifestation of "Zen."

Atoms that obey quantum laws, even if you still can't believe that they were created by the Creator, you will definitely admit that they are god-like products.
